Skype lessons give you total flexibility: you can decide the day, the time and take the lesson at home, in the office, in your lunch hour or while you’re traveling. You’ll find that learning online lets you study French at your own pace.
The online classes take place via Skype (voice/image), using a manual that is scanned and available through the browser. The same material is used in the in-home classes and in the videos for the Intensive programs. Therefore, the online classes are just a more convenient version of the in-home sessions. On top of the great experience, after each Skype class, you receive an email with the transcript of the class, for future reference and study.
Take 2 classes/week with our full 100% guaranteed results. If you take only one class / week, take in consideration that your results will come a little slower. Regardless, sit back, relax, practice and just have FUN! :)

How many skype lessons does it take to achieve a conversational level of french? I attend meetings that often switch between english and french and have zero french today
Hello, Colin
Thank you for stopping by!
In your case, the number of lessons that will give you the vocabulary, grammar, conversation and pronunciation (as well as reading) would be covered in 95 lessons. These lessons start from the alphabet and guarantee a solid intermediate/advanced level. The program can be done either exclusively with Skype classes, with J’Ouellette® Intensif (http://j-ouellette.com/fav-program/) or a combination of the two. The Intensif program includes 19 Skype classes and also provides you with a video for each lesson that you can practice with at your own leisure, outside of the 1-on-1 sessions. In my previous experience, the Intensif program can be successfully finished in 5 months. Please don’t hesitate to visit the Success Stories page (http://j-ouellette.com/testimonials/) to see more feed-back on these options, and please email me with more background (http://j-ouellette.com/contact/) to set up a free assessment session in order to discuss ways to customize my programs to your needs and availability.
Thank you so much,
Llyane
I just want to know if there is any other way to pay because PayPal doesn’t support my country.
Hello, Hope
Thank you for your message!
Payment can be made directly from your credit card (without using a PayPal account), via email money transfer or Western Union.
Thank you so much,
Llyane
hello,
Can you tell me more about your learning method, the material you use? What is the success rate for adults?
thanks
Hello, Shannon
Thank you for your question!
I consider that half of my job is to learn the way the students learn. Some are visual, other auditory, others need to write and experiment.
The other half is to make the student aware of mechanical behaviors while learning, reading, speaking.
This way, I teach everyone (adults and children alike) how to catch their own mistakes, by providing rules of pronunciation, grammar and accent advice.
Gradually, my students are able to correct themselves not only in writing (where they start from the get-go by correcting their own Dictée), but also their verbal or grammar errors. I am pretty much firing myself from day 1: I teach my students how NOT to need me :)
To your question, for adults who start from zero (or not), I use a manual written in France for foreigners who learn the language. The manual is available online during class, so we both read the same text. After class, I send by email the transcript, which can be typed and filed for future reference.
No two classes are alike. I work with the person I have in front of me, with their strengths, and goals.
I have been having 7 adults starting to learn French from zero and all of them were successfully writing a Dictée in the second or third class. Other adults started from an intermediate level. I have 3 families expanding classes from the children to the parents, from one parent to both. I also have had 10 new students referred by existing students.
I would say that the success rate is 100%.
I guarantee my results because I adjust the class, the technique, the approach and the pace when needed. With children I start with a playful activity and I alternate the topics that they “like” (which means they are good at), with those they “don’t like” (which means they didn’t understand, hence they are not good at). With adults, I start with a relaxing topic, as they typically are stressed out after a day’s work, or just from making room in the day for the French class.
I hope I answered your question. Please let me know if there is anything you would like me to clarify.
Thanks,
Llyane
Hi, Kim, thank you for stopping by!
The fees don’t differ based on age.
As for the location, I strongly believe that in your child’s case, in-home tutoring is best. Children need time to adjust to a new presence in their life, and having the lesson in a familiar environment takes off the pressure.
Also, when you prepare for a tutor, it is best that the lesson takes place in their room, without the presence of the parents. You can leave the door open and listen to the lesson from another room, but being in the same room would distract the child and they may not even share what is difficult for them when learning. What they find difficult is the best indicator of an area that they didn’t understand. What they find easy is something they have a good grasp on. Working within these two dimensions, motivates the child when doing something they find easy, and rewards them when finally doing something they couldn’t do before. Becoming aware of these two concepts and identifying them is the very first step in a good understanding and progress.
To your question, if the distance to your home is reasonable, I would be more than happy to help you and your child at home.
